Dr Victor Lando is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Human Rights and Democratisation from the University of Pretoria and a Doctor of Laws (LLD) degree also from the University of Pretoria.
He has over Sixteen years’ experience in the legal sector with a specialty in Human Rights, Regional
Integration within the EAC Treaty Framework, Gender equity, Good governance, Humanitarian and Refugee law. He has been a consultant with a number of reputable institutions such as the National
Gender and Equality Commission of Kenya (NGEC), the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) the Kenyan Ministry of Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs
(MoJNCCA), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the International Rescue Committee (IRC), the Society for International Development (SID) and the CRADLE –the
Children’s foundation. Furthermore, he has served as Senior Legal Counsel at the Kenya National
Commission on Human Rights as well as a Protection Officer (SGBV specialist) with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). He also serves as a human rights expert within the UNDP’s panel of experts and has written extensively on the subject of regional integration, human rights and good governance.. Dr. Lando serves as the Dean, Riara Law School, Nairobi, where he teaches among others, Constitutional Law, Public International Law , Human Rights Law , Criminal Law as well as Legal Research and Writing.
